New Year with single soldiers in Haifa (2)

(English translation)

 
On the eve of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year), a special ceremony took place at the Bet Hahayal – a home for all the “Lone soldiers” who serve in the IDF and are foreigners.
 
The initiator, Dr Akram Hason -president of the Carmel College, and the former Carmel Mayor together with his friend Dr. Andre Gasiorowski – president of the Helping Hand Coalition, all wanted to give the soldiers a feeling that they have a warm loving family in Israel, and that their sacrifice and service at the IDF is appreciated.
 
The President’s Military Secretary Brigadier General Hason Hason, greeted and thanked the soldiers for their service on behalf of the President, and spoke of the values of the IDF, and of the special connection it has with many communities around the world. He also spoke about the situation present around, and all that is happening.
He greeted the soldiers personally on behalf of the President, who asked him to do so.
 
The Bet Hahayal manager spoke about the cooperation with the Druz Organization, and gave a brief review regarding these soldier’s activities and service.
 
The father of Druz missing soldier Megadi Halavi, who worked hard on building this relationship and connection, received many compliments from Akram Hason, for his contribution to the soldiers and for standing strong till this day.
 
Dr. Yitzhak Roizman the attending physician, who accompanied Dr. Hason, along with members of the organization’s management, spoke of the organizaion’s and College’s contribution to the society in Israel. He thanked the soldiers, wished them a Happy New Year, and much success on their journey. The soldiers thanked Dr. Akram and Dr. Andre, who donated and contributed gifts to the soldiers and who attended this special evening.
Dr. Andre attended this evening with his father, who is from Poland, and with his son who served the IDF and contributed to Israel’s security.
